Political Diversity, Grammar Shaming and Vacation Snaps on the AUGNM Roundup for the Week of October

There is no shortage of good and bad Internet behavior out there, so we're continuing our weekly feature of the highlights and misses in the digital world.

First, some terminology.

UGM Tip: Something particularly good we've noticed.

"404": A 404 is "Page Not Found," so it represents a goof on the Internet.

Skull and Crossbones: Danger!

UGM: Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook expressed support for Donald Trump advocate and fellow tech titan Peter Thiel--and in a UGM move, Zuckerberg extended that tolerance for diversity of political thought to all the team at Facebook. Jesse Eisenberg, who played Zuckerberg in the Social Network, reacts:

"404": Have you ever criticized someone's grammar on a Facebook comment, message board thread or blog post? Then someone else, three messages later, points out that you said "your" instead of "you're"? You could accept that we often type faster than we think, according to Andrew Heisel of The Washington Post. And you could give yourself and your fellow Netizens a break for errors. Or try out Grammarly.

Skull: Kelli Uhrich, writing for Kim Komando's Web site, Komando.com, notes that we leave ourselves overexposed in the excitement of sharing our glam adventures on social media: "It's fun to share photos of your exotic adventures or blog about what you're up to, but the information you share online could easily tell others a bit more than you intended. For example, a simple photo of you at Disneyland accompanied by the caption, "Having a blast," tells anyone who follows you that your house is currently left unattended." (Kristin Johnson, AUGNM author: I've done this too when blogging/tweeting/posting about my travels, for example when I attend writers conferences.)

Everyone loves vacation photos on Facebook and integral, although sharing your ascent of Machu Picchu supposedly can make some people feel blah. And if you have a house sitter or a great security system, you're probably covered. Ask Goldie Hawn.
